Scholarships
CHISPA has funded scholarships for students whose families live in CHISPA homes or apartments entering or attending Hartnell College, California State University at Monterey Bay (CSUMB), and to various accredited colleges through the Community Foundation for Monterey County (CFMC) scholarships.
CHISPA has awarded 91 scholarships totaling over $98,000 since 2005.
One additional scholarship is available to residents of CHISPA’s Mountain View Townhomes Apartment Building in Salinas.
This scholarship is funded by the California Community Reinvestment Corporation. Any resident of Mountain View Townhomes seeking higher education at any college or university is eligible to apply for this scholarship. Each year, a portion of the proceeds from CHISPA’s annual Community Celebration are invested to increase the scholarship endowment. CHISPA held its last Annual Celebration benefit banquet at CSUMB at OldTown Salinas in February 2024. Plan on joining us at this great event next year to benefit scholarships and community services! Further information will be coming to our website in Fall.

Application Opening: Application period for the 2024/2025 year opens February 24, 2024.
Application Deadline: Applications for the 2024/2025 year are due by April 30, 2024.
