CHISPA's Mission is to improve people's lives and create healthy neighborhoods by developing, selling, owning and managing affordable homes.
Apartment complexes developed or owned by CHISPA are managed by the corporation’s own property management subsidiary, CHISPA Housing Management, Inc. (CHMI). Formed in 1983, CHMI has a staff of property managers, maintenance technicians, caretakers and groundskeepers to ensure the highest quality management services are provided.
On-site resident managers provide quick response to community and resident concerns that may arise. Regular inspections ensure that water, electrical and fire systems are operable and that any necessary repairs are made.
A full-time staff of qualified maintenance technicians meet the various maintenance needs at all properties managed by CHMI by providing quick response to daily service orders, conducting preventive maintenance, and performing timely repairs and maintenance of vacant units to allow for short turn-around times.
Most rental properties host periodic events for residents such as at Halloween, Cinco de Mayo, or Christmas. In addition to the events hosted by CHMI, CHISPA’s Community Services department also coordinates activities and events with service providers at the rental properties. Some activities include after-school and summer programs for youth, English as a Second Language, adult literacy, Girl Scouts, guitar and dance classes, and computer literacy classes.
