CHISPA's Mission is to improve people's lives and create healthy neighborhoods by developing, selling, owning and managing affordable homes.

CHISPA provides home-ownership opportunities for very-low, low and moderate-income families through the following programs:
Low-income individuals and families become homeowners by building their houses themselves, under CHISPA's supervision.
CHISPA is using federal stimulus funding under the NSP2 Program to purchase and renovate foreclosed homes in in the cities of Gonzales, Greenfield, Hollister, King City, Salinas and Soledad.
CHISPA, the City of Salinas and Hartnell Community College formed a partnership in 2004 to offer on-site construction experience to students enrolled in Hartnell's Construction Technology Program.
CHISPA also builds and sells affordable or "inclusionary" homes for market-rate developers who do not wish to build these homes themselves. In some cases, CHISPA handles the sale of inclusionary homes built by developers or municipalities.
