Elsa Quezada - Chair, is Executive Director of the Central Coast Center for Independent Living (CCCIL), a local nonprofit organization which provides advocacy, education and support to all people with disabilities. She has served on numerous local, state and national advisory committees with a special interest in developing independent living services for Latinos with disabilities and is the President of the California Foundation for Independent Living Centers. She also serves on many local boards including the ACTION Council, the Monterey County Health Consortium, and the Santa Cruz-Monterey Medi Cal Managed Care Commission and has played a key role in the establishment of the Monterey County Public Authority and the Monterey County Commission on Disabilities.
Matt Bogoshian - Vice Chair, is Deputy Secretary for Law Enforcement and Counsel for the California Environmental Protection Agency (CEPA). Matt holds a Juris Doctorate degree from the University of California, Davis and also earned a Masters of Public Administration from San Diego State University and a Bachelor of Arts degree from San Jose State University. Matt was previously a Deputy District Attorney and lead environmental prosecutor with the Monterey County District Attorney’s Consumer and Environmental Protection Unit. He also served as an officer in the U.S. Navy Judge Advocate General Corps. Matt served for five years as a Trustee for the Salinas Union High School District, Monterey County’s largest school district. He is a founding member of the Salinas Education Council and also belongs to the Monterey County Domestic Violence Coordinating Council. He serves as the Chairman to the court ordered Environmental Protection Prosecution Fund which awards grants to agencies to improve environmental law enforcement.
Alonzo Gonzalez - Secretary is the Site Manager for the Santa Clara County Native TANF Program in San Jose, CA. The program provides cash assistance and supportive services to eligible and needy Indian families with children or expecting. Previously he was the Executive Director of the Appolonia Foundation for Children’s Dental Health, a nonprofit organization that owned and managed two children’s dental programs, the Mobile Dental Center and the Children’s Oral Health Program. The agency provided comprehensive dental treatment and prevention services not otherwise available to rural, underserved or geographically isolated children from ages to 2 to 19 in Central California. Alonzo holds a Juris Doctorate degree from Santa Clara University School of Law and Bachelor of Arts degree in Politics from the University of California, Santa Cruz. Alonzo has a long history of participation with community groups and activities focused on community, health, education and Latino issues.
Tom Hibert - Treasurer is the owner of Triad Property Management, a 25-year old company which manages residential rental properties, commercial office buildings, and shopping centers. Tom is a licensed real estate broker and a licensed general contractor. He holds both a Masters of Business Administration degree and a Master of Public Administration degree. Tom is actively involved in the local community and is committed to the idea of quality affordable housing on the Central Coast.
James H. Claypool, Jr. is retired and resides in Seaside. Prior to his retirement James was employed as the Economic Development and Redevelopment Manager for the City of Seaside. He has served on the Board of Directors of the Seaside/Sand City Chamber of Commerce and is actively involved in the Monterey Bay Blues Festival. He is also affiliated with the Peninsula Golf Club, Retired Men’s Social Club and Veterans of Foreign Wars. James is interested in ensuring that there is an adequate supply of much-needed affordable housing on the Central Coast.
Sheri L. Cline is the Vice President/Branch Manager for Pacific Valley Bank. Sheri is a board member of Meals on Wheels of the Salinas Valley, a board member of Action Council of Monterey County (ACMC), board member of Central Coast Center for Independent Living (CCCIL), Salinas Northeast Rotarian, is a security volunteer for the California International Airshow Salinas, and is a parent volunteer at Notre Dame High School. She has served on the Board of Directors of the Los Padres Elementary and Madonna del Sasso PTA. Sheri supports CHISPA’s mission of providing safe and affordable housing to residents of the Central Coast.
Esther L. Rubio is the Director of Head Start for the Monterey County Office of Education. Esther holds a Master of Public Administration from Golden Gate University and is a trained facilitator. She currently serves on the Monterey County Child Care Planning Council, Hermana Scholarship Committee, Salinas-Kushikino Sister City Association, League of United Latin American Citizens and is a Member of the Women’s Fund and the All-Star High School Soccer Game. Esther has a long history of community service and involvement in organizations which promote health and education. She strongly believes that providing affordable housing opportunities to Central Coast residents will empower them to become invested in their homes and communities.
Hilda Lopez is a Sales Director for Mary Kay Cosmetics. Hilda lives in Castroville and is very involved in the local community.
Tom Huffman is the Distribution Manager for Driscoll’s Strawberry. Tom resides in Salinas and is very interested in ensuring that there are affordable housing opportunities available for local workers, families and seniors.
