CHISPA's Mission is to improve people's lives and create healthy neighborhoods by developing, selling, owning and managing affordable homes.
CHISPA is announcing that the Interest lists are now open for affordable single-family homes for sale through CHISPA.
A new 3 bedroom, 2 bath house, located at 124 Soledad Street in Salinas, will be sold to a qualified low-income family. This is accessible for disabled persons and features a ramp to the house, a roll in shower in one of the bathrooms, low-flow plumbing fixtures and other sustainable materials. Built through a partnership between CHISPA, the City of Salinas and Hartnell College's Center for Sustainable Design and Construction, this home is priced at $170,000. Applicants must live or work in the City of Salinas, be low-income, be first-time homebuyers and be able to obtain a mortgage through a financial institution.
Several rehabilated homes will also be sold to qualified low and moderate-income families through CHISPA's Neighborhood Stabilization Program 2 (NSP2) this year. Homes will be sold in Gonzales, Greenfield, King City, Salinas and Soledad.
